The bike was acquired in 1972 and ridden until 1974 when the owner decided he would like to ride it down to New Zealand as an overland vehicle. It was sent to Fred Warr Ltd. in Fulham (London) where it underwent a full re-build. After eight months it was ready, fitted with an ex R.A.C. side car for carrying all that might be needed for the trip.

A week before D-day he received a letter from the N.Z. High Commission that he would not receive a resident's permit.

As a result the owner ended up buying the farmhouse he had been working on in 1975 and using the Harley as his primary transport for the next 7 years. Apart from a grease once a year the bike and its owner lived by the Harley Davidson maxim "To last one man his lifetime" and being just one year older than the owner and having a re-build he considered it was in better shape than him!

Since then the bike has remained on the same farm and been used for a variety of tasks including moving hay, transporting gates and towing a trailer with sheep.

The bike is sold in running condition after over 50 years of ownership by the same gentleman who is now contemplating some new adventures from the proceeds of sale!
